Illustration and Design

I am an illustrator and have experience designing posters, zines, logos and more!

I create digital illustrations and designs – both art pieces and posters / social media assets.

I have experience creating a brand identity from scratch, working to pre-existing ideas and creating assets people can use long-term.

I also work to commission, for example this illustration entitled ‘Nowt as Queer as Folk’, which was commissioned by Curious Arts as a part of their Trans Joy commissions.
You can buy it in postcard here.

The image shows Amy watching over a young person doing a craft.

Design highlights

Pride Action North ‘Stories of Strength’

In 2025, I facilitated a project for Pride Action North called ‘Stories of Strength. The project posed the prompt: “Everyone is talking about queer kids right now, but is anyone actually listening to them?

I worked with participants of PLUS group and Pride Action North to create a zine sharing the voices, poems, art and feelings of young LGBTQIA+ people in the North-East during such a tumultous time.

I designed the zine and digitised art made by the participants.

A quote from Pride Action North said: “A standout output from the project is the creation of a digital storytelling booklet and zine, developed with the support of North East based creative Amy Langdown. These resources showcase the voices of participants and are now being shared with stakeholders to promote better understanding of LGBTQIA+ inclusion.”

Pride Youth Partnership

I was asked to design the logo and branding for the North East and North Cumbria Pride Youth Partership.

The logo was inspired by ideas from young people in the area about how they want to be represented.

A phoenix was the stand-out idea and I put together that idea with the colours of the progress pride flag, ensuring the pheonix was depicted as being joyful and in the important moment of ‘rising from the ashes’.

Queer Joy Captured

Queer Joy Captured is a free photography project I run with Thom Robson. It was important to us to make shareable posts that really represented the brand. With strong LGBTQ+ flag colour palettes, we were able to put across the information we needed to across our social media channels.
